The Mysterious Green UFO

I was looking back at experiences sent to me from podcast listeners and those who occasionally visit the website. I thought, why not post up some of these experiences? I'm sure many have not had a chance to read them.

Here goes one from a person named Juan Urquizo. It tells of an encounter with what may have been a UFO. As always, take it how you will- and feel free to leave your comments.

The following has been copied from my old journal to text format. It hasn't been changed or altered. It is what I wrote down in my journal after my friend left:

December 05, 1997

It has been two days since my best friends birthday. He came over to spend the night and show off his birthday gifts and play some video games. He is 17 now. I am 16, so he bragged about him being older than me again. Around 9:45 pm, me and Steve got hungry and decided to make a run to get some food.

As we started heading back, he tilted his head upward and asked, “What is that?” I thought he was trying to do a stupid prank again so I didn't look. I just kept walking. He pulled me by the arm and said, "Hey, I’m not playing, what the hell is that?" When I raised my head, there was this thin green glowing strip of light hovering over an apartment building.

I told him it was one of those event spotlights, but in the back of my mind I felt it wasn't and he didn’t think so either. As we started walking toward where I lived I could have sworn that I saw that light move 3 feet to the right in a slow but weird manner. I knew something was odd about this.

My friend was pale with fear. He said it was a UFO. As we stared at it longer, fear came over us for no apparent reason and started running toward my house. While running we kept our eyes on the object. Then it moved again and we stopped running.

It seemed like it noticed it was being watched and shot off in a vertical flash, like a shooting star but on rewind. As we got to my house, my friend didn’t stay over that night and had a good reason not to.

This is my first paranormal experience. I have been to air shows, I have seen the best fighter jets, and we have and I have yet to see anything match the speed or maneuverability of this thing. I did some researched that night to see if any military aircraft was operating nearby and none were. I did however find out someone went missing that night.
